Useful Resources for Activists and Journalist.

These links will take you to various resources that can be of value to anyone wishing to communicate while remaining secure.

Some basics all activists and journalists should know. Many already do but this is for those new to dealing with an adversarial US Government who hates facts, truth and criticism.

1. Get and use a good VPN that is located outside of the US. We suggest SurfShark but others are also good. Read terms of service and only accept those who do NOT keep any log files.  If your really paranoid pay with Bitcoin.

2. Obtain one or two free encrypted, anonymous email accounts. TUTANOTA and PROTON are the best.*

3. Only talk to trusted sources or journalists. Vet them first!

4. Never save communications or documents on your own computer. Consider an online storage like MEGA    Upload your encrypted container or zip files with their own passwords. You can share with journalists from there.

5. If you must save locally use VeraCrypt to create a hidden volume with separate passwords.  This is a plausable deniability feature.( keep small enough to upload to cloud )

6. Install the TOR browser and use TOR along with VPN to communicate using the above methods. ( there are mobile TOR browsers too! )

7. Have a backup in a trusted friend. Someone you know will remain faithful.

8. For online payments I suggest this handy free service from Privacy.com  I'ts not necessarily related to secrecy but can be invaluable if you subscribe to things and want to shut down their access to your finds. Don't use your own bank cards.
